Temeka Johnson Relaunches Foundation Web Site

Posted: June 25, 2010

Mercury point guard and 2009 WNBA champion, Temeka Johnson today unveiled her revamped Heaven Opens People’s Eyes (H.O.P.E.) Foundation web site, MeeksHOPE.org.

MeeksHOPE.org features information on the Foundation’s programs, photo galleries of Johnson playing and working in the community and exclusive Johnson and H.O.P.E. Foundation merchandise, including a new full color 11 x 17 H.O.P.E. calendar that is available for $20.

Johnson established the H.O.P.E. Foundation in 2008 with the goal of inspiring youth, families and communities to set high aspirations, reach for their dreams and lead more emotionally healthy lifestyles.

“Growing up and being the smallest person on the basketball court, I was always told I couldn’t be a player,” Johnson recalls. “That fueled a fire inside of me to prove people wrong and today I am proud to have earned a WNBA championship title with the Phoenix Mercury. I started the H.O.P.E. Foundation to be an advocate for all those who are told they can’t do something. With hope and determination, people can achieve anything.”

Visit MeeksHOPE.org for more information about the Foundation and to stay up-to-date on the latest news. Lower-level tickets to catch Johnson in action are available for just $10 a game. Visit phoenixmercury.com or call 602-252-WNBA to purchase tickets.
