The Gift of the Mercury

Posted: Dec. 5, 2008

With the help of generous Mercury fans through last season’s Gift of the Mercury, more than 4,000 tickets were distributed to deserving children through the United Way, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Club, and numerous other organizations. Those donations helped give kids and their families an unforgettable experience they otherwise may not have been afforded.

We would like to invite you to support the underserved and needy kids of the Valley. A $250 donation provides a ticket for each 2009 Mercury home game in addition to a hot dog and soda at the game. In exchange for your donation, you will receive “Mercury Bucks” which can be used on auction items the night of the December 17, during your exclusive “Give the Gift of the Mercury” celebration, which will be hosted by Mercury General Manager Ann Meyers Drysdale and Suns General Manager Steve Kerr. Items will include authentic game-worn gear, the original Cappie Patch doll, pieces of the 2007 Mercury floor autographed by the entire championship team and much, much more.

Without question, everyone has been affected by the tough economic times, but we hope you’ll use this opportunity to make it a teachable moment for the underprivileged youth in the Valley. By demonstrating selflessness through your donation, kids are not only enjoying a Mercury game, but gaining positive role models in their lives, which is important for every child.

To make a donation, call (602) 252-WNBA or fill out this form to be contacted by a Mercury representative. Thank you in advance for your help!
