The Phoenix Mercury and EmpowHER are joining forces to provide women with the knowledge and resources to deal with sports-related health issues. EmpowHER has recorded a series of interviews with Mercury staff and team members, which are available on at no cost.

On the site, visitors will find the reigning 2009 WNBA champions’ athletic trainer Tamara Poole discussing topics from icing sore muscles, to proper ankle taping techniques, to supplements female athletes should take. The Mercury and EmpowHER will add new content to the site regularly on topics such as skin care for athletes, working out after pregnancy and maintaining focus and determination in times of struggle. Visit the Phoenix Mercury’s featured page on EmpowHER to view these new interviews as they are published.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Phoenix Mercury to offer our visitors exceptional women’s health information from an athletic point of view,” said EmpowHER Founder, Chairperson and CEO Michelle King Robson. “It is interesting to learn how the Mercury takes care of their athletes to keep them healthy and strong, and in top performance mode. The information they share can help so many of us take better care of ourselves and those we care about.”

“With our health and bodies constantly changing with age and especially with the stress athletes put on themselves, it’s comforting to know that women have a consistent and reliable source of knowledge to turn to at,” said Mercury President and General Manager Ann Meyers Drysdale.
