Well X-Factor, last time I wrote I told you that Angel and I were going for a road trip. We left Wednesday after practice and decided to rent a car and head to NY because we were off on Thursday. We were styliní and profiliní as we headed to NY in our navy blue Prius! Of course we got stuck in traffic, but still managed to make good time. We met up with some friends prior to going to our hotel (The Distrikt Hotel). It was a few blocks from Times Square, so you couldn't ask for a better location. That night we went to Applebee's and just chilled because we were a little worn out from practice. On Thursday we woke up and decided that we wanted some soul food. So we hopped on the train and headed for Sylvia's in Harlem. I donít know that I've ever seen so many people on the train in the middle of the day. I swear no one works anymore! We enjoyed a nice lunch outside and basically people watched the entire time. Needless to say, we saw some interesting people. After that we got back on the train and went back to Times Square. We roamed around for a little and made our way to the NBA Store. Angel just had to get herself a DUPREE jersey! Once again we met up with friends and headed back to the hotel. We hung out at the lounge in the hotel before heading to bed. We had to be up at around 4:30 a.m. so we could head back to Conn. We had to be on the bus by 9:15 a.m. to head to practice.

Friday morning we reviewed our plays and worked with some practice players to get us ready for a scrimmage against the select team that night. It was nice to finally get up and down the floor and see everything we've been working on the last four days put into action. We scrimmaged for three quarters and won two out of the three. The select team did a great job considering they only had two practices prior to the scrimmage. The talent of these ladies is crazy! I can only imagine how competitive the league is going to be in the years to come.

Saturday morning was the same as Friday. Once again we scrimmaged against the select team. We played well the first quarter. After that we got a little sloppy. The select team had the plays down and was ready to compete this time around. They won the second quarter, but we went on to win the third and fourth. I wasn't able to finish out the scrimmage because I took a hard fall and landed on my tail bone and right lower back. The rest of the evening consisted of nothing but rest and ice for me.

Sunday we had a scrimmage that was open to the public. The fan support was great. I must say that UConn has some very loyal fans and they came out to show their support. I chose not to play in the scrimmage. I didn't want to make the injury any worse than it was. Especially since training camp is right around the corner. The game was great. Both teams competed really well, and the select team gave the national team a run for their money.

Once again I had a great USAB experience. This time around I was able to get all of the plays down and I have a better feel/understanding for my teammates. Geno is a great guy to play for and I look forward to working with him in the future.

Today was a good day because everything is coming together. People are starting to get the plays down and practice has a better flow to it. We have more new faces...

Monica Wright, Kelsey Griffin, Kalana Green and Danielle Robinson. They are members of the "select team" but we needed more bodies so they had them come earlier. Tomorrow is an off day for us so Angel and I are going to make our way to New York this afternoon and stay the night. Change of scenery for us and we may do some sightseeing. I'll make sure I take some pictures for you X-Factor!

Finally, Connecticut is cold! Haha! Itís a little chilly for me because it is only 60 degrees and has been a bit windy. I have been roaming around the city a little with Angel, but so far we haven't seen too much. Other than that, I am just looking forward to learning more and getting to know my teammates better on and off the court!

Hello X-Factor! My teammates are Angel McCoughtry, Swin Cash, Maya Moore, Tina Charles, Jayne Appel, Kara Lawson, Renee Montgomery and Seimone Augustus. Unfortunately, a lot of players couldn't make it to Connecticut due to overseas obligations or injuries that they are currently rehabbing.

Geno is a lot of fun to play for because he's all about intensity and hard work. He wants us to get in the gym and work hard for about an hour and a half, and then we are done! As far as the USA Basketball experience, I am enjoying it because it gives me the opportunity to play with some of the best players in the world. Itís not every day you get to play with such great players and for such a great coach. Practices have consisted mostly of breaking down the offense. Geno's style of basketball is something that a lot of the players have never run or even seen before. Most of the drills we run are a breakdown of the offenses. As practice goes on we put everything we've worked on into 5-on-5 situations.
