Lynx Coach Suzie McConnell Serio
"(This loss) makes it difficult, but not impossible. The magic number after our last game was four. We have four games left. Teams still have to play each other... It is going to be difficult these four games. We need to come back strong from this. We need to get motivated, need to get focused. We have to come ready to play for 40 minutes."

"I think we had some lapses. Turnovers at critical times, I thought, hurt us. We have to take better care of the basketball. We gave them too many opportunities... They were unforced. It's players trying to make the pass when they need to read who's going to make the next pass. My three words I say all the time are, 'Keep it simple.' You don't have to make the great pass to the post player."

"We became three-point happy. No one was crashing the offensive boards. We were shooting, hoping to make it, instead of with the confidence the shooter needs to shoot the ball with in crunch time. The sense of urgency we needed to play with wasn't there until after the timeout."

"This is game number 30. We've had enough experience to know how to win. I don't look for excuses. We just didn't get the job done. These players have been in championship games in college and the Olympics. These are very experienced players."

Lynx Guard Katie Smith
"We dug ourselves a little bit of a hole. I don't know exactly what happened during that period. We didn't score, we committed turnovers and obviously they scored on those possessions. It was a combination of everything. We had to keep them close. You can't give up that much of a gap at the end of a ballgame. We have to keep them closer in range, but we did fight back and had opportunities to get it close. It was still an uphill battle for the rest of the game. They didn't miss any free throws down the stretch, and you need little things to bounce your way. Time just ran out."

Lynx Center Janell Burse
"We've got to take care of the ball. When you look at their turnovers to our turnovers, and what they did with our turnovers, that would've made a totally different game. But their defense was so good it makes it hard, because their arms are so long from the one-spot to the five."

Lynx Forward Tamika Williams
"It always comes down to the last minute with them. Lisa played well tonight and so did DeLisha. Dixon hit some free throws... It's just an experienced team. It's nothing magical about them. When you have experience, talent and All-Stars and people who are international champions it's hard to lose. I'm not saying those are things we don't have, but they have definitely been there and done that. And you can't look at them and not give them that respect."

"It was definitely our turnovers, and I know we had 21 of those. But you've also got to think that probably one-fourth of them were offensive rebounds. I think almost everybody on their team got offensive rebounds. That's what it came down to."

Sparks Coach Michael Cooper
"I'm glad to get our two big people back. They played much better than I thought they would. They performed very well, considering Leslie missed 11 games and Milton three. At this level, timing is so precise. You can miss one practice and be completely out of synch. But they were able to get back real quick. They had a few practices to help get their timing back, and I think that made a difference."

"I'm glad to get a win over a tough team, a team that we might see in the playoffs. This was very important. They are a very gritty team, the Lynx. They're fighting for their playoff lives and want to get that fourth seed. We are trying to do a similar thing. We haven't played very well lately, but we are back healthy and trying to roll into the playoffs rather than limp."

"It was a little bit of both, I think. Defensively we put good pressure on them, but they were going for home-run-hitting passes. Some nights they might go for assists instead of turnovers. The Lynx are a good passing team. But some of those assists just turned into turnovers, and I think we did a good job pressuring them."

Sparks Center Lisa Leslie
"Just getting back in game speed is an adjustment in general. It was a good effort by our team. I felt pretty good out there. Obviously I'm not a hundred percent, being able to do everything I normally would do. But it was a good effort... I was limited to 25 minutes. That's the number of minutes I've been allowed to play."

"Everybody has their confidence back. This was a good game, a good test for us to come out and execute and really share the ball. Assists were the biggest difference for us just sharing the ball and finding the open player... It's nice to have everybody back. Even though we're not at a hundred percent, I think we're playing good basketball together. This was our first test, and we passed it."

Sparks Forward DeLisha Milton
"This win is huge. We knew that Minnesota needed this win like no other, but on the flipside so did we... We're accustomed to winning. We're accustomed to being number one, and that's what we want to be going into the playoffs. But if fate has it for us where we're not, we're fine with that. We're still going to win the championship."

Sparks Guard Nikki Teasley
"We have to make an example out of everybody. We have to separate ourselves from everybody else in the league, and hopefully this was the start for us to do that."
