Lynx Coach Suzie McConnell Serio
"It was an exciting win. We held on and they (Fever) were a great team. Players stepped up and we had two players out. Janell Burse had nine rebounds. Tamika Williams played solid. Sheri Sam stepped up at both ends. We had great production from the bench. Katie Smith hit the clutch shots. It was a great win. I'm proud of their win and it was a great victory."
Lynx Guard Katie Smith
"It was an even game in the first half. We just had to keep battling and come out in the second half and stay aggressive. Sheri (Sam) made a lot of good shots for us and everyone else contributed. We knew it would be tight down the stretch because Indiana was going to give it their all, just like everyone else in the league."
"I can't say our defense was that great. They kept attacking the basket and we kept fouling them and letting them get to the free throw line where they scored a lot of points."
"She's (Tamika Catchings) a great player. We've played together and I'd much rather play with her than against her. I'm very happy for her."
Fever Coach Nell Fortner
"I think our lack of scoring was our downfall tonight. Shooting 32 percent will not win many games. We had our shots. We got to the line. The ball just wouldn't fall. It could have been a lack of focus for us. Minnesota's defense was very physical, which got us out of our rhythm."
"The game was just very physical. Minnesota has a couple of players that are very physical. These players totally threw us off our game."
Fever Forward Tamika Catchings
"We were not able to hit shots we normally hit and that affects the game. We had an off night with shots we depend on. When we're not hitting, it is hard to build a lead or get a spark of momentum."
"It was very physical but it has been all year. We should be used to it."
