With the win, the Comets improve to 16-1 all-time against the Lynx, including a perfect 9-0 record against Minnesota at the Compaq Center. The Lynx' lone victory came in a 68-64 overtime victory on June 1 at Minnesota.

In the past 17 games, Minnesota is 6-3 overall against Western Conference opponents, with all three of those losses coming at the hands of the Comets. Houston defeated the Lynx, 77-68, at Minnesota on June 17 and won again, 71-69, at the Compaq Center on July 1 prior to tonight's loss.

The Lynx set a Comets opponent season high of 19 turnovers.

Minnesota's Janell Burse tied a career high with nine rebounds in her fourth consecutive start. Burse also had nine rebounds in the Lynx' win at Indiana on Saturday.

Lynx forward Sheri Sam led the Lynx with 16 points, the second time this season she's been the team's leading scorer. Sam is averaging 14.9 ppg in 11 July contests.

Lynx guard Katie Smith was held to 7 points on 3-of-13 shooting, the first time she's scored in single digits since June 20 at Sacramento.

Both Janeth Arcain and Ukari Figgs set season highs in points. Arcain's 20 points topped her previous season high of 19 points on July 19 at Sacramento. Figgs' 13 points were three more than her previous season high of 10 set June 14 at Phoenix. Arcain also tied her season high in rebounds with six. She has now hauled down six board four times this season, most recently on June 17 at Minnesota.
