Lynx Announce 2006 Training Camp Roster

The Minnesota Lynx today announced the teamís 2006 training camp roster, which includes 10 players who appeared on last seasonís team.

Absent from the start of training camp due to overseas commitments are forward Svetlana Abrosimova and guards Kristi Harrower and Nuria Martinez.

The new additions to the Lynx are free agents Adrian Williams, Jess Strom and Brittany Davis; draft picks Seimone Augustus (first overall), Shona Thorburn (seventh overall) and Megan Duffy (31st overall); and Ambrosia Anderson, who was acquired by the Lynx in a draft-day trade with the Detroit Shock.

Minnesota heads to Phoenix on May 5 for the preseason opener against the Mercury at US Airways Arena. The Lynx will play host to the Seattle Storm at the University of Minnesotaís Sports Pavilion on Saturday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in the teamís only other preseason game. The Home Opener is May 23 against the Connecticut Sun at Target Center (8 p.m.).

The Lynx may carry up to 18 players on their roster for the first 10 days of training camp before reducing their roster to 15 players for the remainder of camp. The final roster cut-down date for the Lynx' regular season 11-player active roster is May 22. The team may also place two players on the Injured List.
