Scouting Report - Lynx (13-18) vs Shock (16-15) 7 PM

Los Angeles defeated San Antonio last night 76-68 to clinch a playoff birth. Now that three teams have secured spots in the postseason, Minnesota and San Antonio will vie for the final seed with only three games remaining. The Lynx sit a half game behind the Silver Stars with San Antonio holding the tiebreaker. The Silver Stars head to Sacramento for a contest against the Monarchs on Thursday night.

Tonight, Minnesota entertains Detroit in the home finale and Fan Appreciation Night at the Target Center. The Lynx outscored the Storm 20-9 in the 4th quarter on Saturday night to improve to 13-18. Charde Houston and Candice Wiggins carried the offensive load by combining for 40 points. Center Nicky Anosike missed the contest with left knee soreness and her return to the floor is questionable for the contest against the Shock.

Deanna Nolan leads Detroit as the point guard earned consecutive Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors. With former Lynx guard Katie Smith missing the past four games; Dolan has increased her scoring average to 16.6 points per game. Behind the strong play from Dolan, Detroit is 7-3 in its last 10 games and riding a 3-game winning streak. The Shock are 16-15 with a chance to improve their position in the Eastern Conference playoff picture with a win on Tuesday night.

On July 31, Detroit defeated Minnesota 91-83 in Motown after Nolan scored 22 points in the victory. The Lynx only scored 14 in the first quarter to start the game against the Shock in the first meeting this year. While Minnesota rebounded from the tough start, Detroit was too much to handle and reached the free throw line 28 times. Tasha Humphrey, Quanitra Hollingsworth, Rashanda McCants, and Kelly Miller provided a balanced offensive attack off the bench for the Lynx with 47 points.

Keys To A Win For Minnesota:
