Lynx Volunteer During Holiday Season

On Tuesday, Dec. 18, the Minnesota Lynx Front Office took some time during the holiday season to give back to the community at the Ebenezer Minneapolis Campus. Joined by head coach Cheryl Reeve, the Lynx business staff spent the afternoon bringing holiday cheer to the Ebenezer, assisting with the facility’s annual holiday party.

“It’s always great to be able to give back,” said Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve. “Throughout the season, our fans always give us everything they have to give Target Center the best home court advantage in the WNBA. The offseason is a great opportunity for us to return the favor. Days like today truly are one of the best parts of my job.”

“We are delighted to have groups like the Minnesota Lynx join us in serving our elders,” said Sally Newbury, Volunteer Services Director for the Ebenezer Minneapolis Campus. “The Lynx employees volunteered with us to help our residents celebrate the holidays by singing songs, distributing presents and serving refreshments. They even brought some wonderful Lynx ornaments too!”

Lynx staffers spent the afternoon helping escort seniors from their rooms to the party, serving refreshments and helping residents unwrap their presents. After all the presents were opened, the Lynx led the room in carols, serenading residents and other Ebenezer staffers to the tunes of “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and more. Once the staff was done singing, they escorted the residents back to their rooms to put a cap on the afternoon.

The Ebenezer Minneapolis Campus is a senior living community that offers older adults an opportunity to make their lives independent, healthful, meaningful and secure. Through compassion, integrity and service, the facility is able to fulfill its mission statement and make improvements to the life of its residents.
