Minnesota Lynx Unveil 2009 Draft Central
With anticipation of the 2009 WNBA Draft escalating, the Minnesota Lynx today unveiled a special section on www.lynxbasketball.com devoted to coverage of the April 9 draft, which will be held in Secaucus, N.J. The site will feature extensive scouting reports and evaluations of 15 of the top collegiate seniors who will be eligible for the 2009 WNBA Draft, along with continually updated statistical information on more than 60 other potential draftees.
"Coming off our most successful draft in franchise history, it's important that we get our fans engaged in what we expect to be another successful draft," said Chief Operating Officer Conrad Smith. "Drafting three times within the first 15 selections allows us the opportunity to add even more talent to our existing core of young and talented players. We're committed to providing our fans with the best possible coverage of the 2009 WNBA Draft and our Draft Central page is the ideal forum for our fans to learn more about the future stars of the WNBA."
Located at the top of the Draft Central page will be a module featuring action shots and biographical information of the top 15 collegiate seniors. From there, fans can click on each player's individual link to pull up scouting reports and evaluations from some of the top women's basketball contributors, including Lynx head coach Don Zierden.
In addition to the expanded coverage offered to 15 of the top collegiate seniors, more than 60 other potential draftees will be included in the report, with links provided to their respective college bios and updated stats from the 2008-09 season. Other applications included in the special section are Lynx draft history, draft news and the 2009 WNBA Draft order. To learn more about over 75 draft-eligible collegiate seniors, please click here.
