Lynx Sign Megan Duffy

The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed free-agent guard Megan Duffy. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The signing returns the Lynx active roster to 11 players, filling the roster opening left by Kathrin Ress' departure to train with the Italian National Team.

Duffy, 23, was drafted by the Lynx with the 31st overall selection of the 2006 WNBA Draft. The former Notre Dame standout appeared in 31 games, all off the bench, as a rookie in 2006. She averaged 3.4 ppg, 0.9 rpg and 1.2 apg in 12.5 mpg. The 5-7 guard's season highs were 13 points, three rebounds and five assists.

The Lynx released Duffy during training camp on April 26. She was signed by the Los Angeles Sparks on April 30 and totaled 12 points, five assists, and five rebounds in three preseason games with the Sparks before she was cut on May 18.

Minnesota's next game is Tuesday, Aug. 7, against the Seattle Storm at Target Center, beginning at 7 p.m. CDT. Tickets are available at the Target Center Box Office, online at or by calling 1-877-WNBA-TIX.
