Lynx Re-Sign Center Jessica Adair

The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has re-signed center Jessica Adair. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

After being signed by the Lynx on Aug. 18 of last year, the 6-4 Adair appeared in the final 2010 regular-season game for Minnesota, totaling five points and eight rebounds in 14 minutes in an 83-79 Lynx win at Indiana. Adair spent the majority of the 2010 training camp with the Lynx, playing in one preseason game, before she was released.

Adair is currently playing in Turkey for Samsun. In 15 games, Adair ranks second in the Turkish League in rebounds per game (10.5 rpg), fifth in blocked shots per game (1.13 bpg) and 14th in scoring (13.9 ppg). Adair is one of just two players currently averaging a point/rebound double-double in league play.

A graduate of George Washington University, Adair was originally drafted by the Phoenix Mercury with the 34th overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft. A Washington, D.C. native, Adair averaged 12.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game over her four-year career at George Washington. A three-time All-Atlantic First Team selection, Adair completed her career ranked 11th on GW's career scoring list (1,475 points), seventh in career rebounds (770 rebounds) and fifth in career blocks (161 blocks). She led the Colonials in scoring (13.7 ppg), rebounding (7.4 rpg), blocks (1.7 bpg), steals (1.1 spg) and field goal percentage (.584) her senior year.

The Lynx, who own the Nos. 1 and 4 picks in the upcoming 2011 WNBA Draft, will tip off the team's 13th season of basketball in the Twin Cities with its Home Opener on Sunday, June 5 at 2:30 p.m. at Target Center against the Los Angeles Sparks. Lower-level tickets are available for as little as $10 a game for the 17-game home season and can be purchased by calling 612-673-8400 or visiting the Lynx website at
