Abrosimova and Harrower to Join Training Camp Tomorrow

Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has released guard Tamia Williams. Additionally, the team announced that forward Svetlana Abrosimova and guard Kristi Harrower have returned from their overseas commitments and are scheduled to practice with the team on Friday.

Abrosimova competed for Volgaburmash in the Russian Superleague while Harrower played for Aix-en-Provence in the French League. Earlier in the week, Stacey Lovelace (Villeneuve d’ Ascq of the French League) and Nuria Martinez (Perfumerias Avenida in Spain) joined Lynx training camp. Martinez will not practice due to a torn plantar fascia in her left foot. She is expected to miss two-to-three weeks.

A 2005 graduate of the University of Florida, Williams was signed by the Lynx as a free agent on April 25. In 106 career games at Florida, Williams averaged 6.3 ppg, 1.8 rpg and 1.8 apg. Williams scored two points in 13 minutes of action in the Lynx’ first two exhibition games.

The Lynx conclude their 2005 preseason schedule on Saturday, May 14 against the Connecticut Sun at Williams Arena (7 p.m.) on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
