Vickie Johnson Honored For 3,000 Points

New York, NY - June 23, 2005 - At Tuesday's game against San Antonio, Vickie Johnson was honored for the 3,000 points she has scored in her career. The nine-year Liberty veteran had reached the milestone in the team's previous game, Saturday against Phoenix, with a lay-up with just under two minutes left. With that basket, Johnson became just the seventh player in the history of the WNBA to reach the 3,000 point mark. Just before the start of Tuesday's game, Liberty GM Carol Blazejowski presented Johnson with the game ball that was used to score her historic points. The presentation gave New York fans the opportunity to applaud the nine years Johnson has given to the Liberty and the city of New York.
