Hammon Re-Signs with Liberty

New York (February 18, 2004) The New York Liberty has re-signed All-Star guard Becky Hammon to a multi-year contract. The announcement was made today by New York Liberty Senior Vice President and General Manager, Carol Blazejowski.

Hammon, 26, averaged 14.7 points per game and led the team in three-point percentage (.469) and field-goal percentage (.575) in 2003 prior to suffering a season-ending torn ACL. Becky is a key piece of the New York Liberty franchise and our future," said Blazejowski. "She has proven herself to be an outstanding scorer and aggressive defender. Last season, Becky elevated her game to another level and we expect the same from her in 2004 and in the years to come."

Conditions of the contract were not released per team policy.
