Dupree Leads Sky Over Fever

Chicago 68, Indiana 60

CHICAGO, July 22 (AP) -- Candice Dupree had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Chicago Sky to a 68-60 win over the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night.

Jia Perkins had 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Sky (8-15), which won for the third time in five games after losing its previous four. Chasity Melvin added 13 points and seven rebounds while Quianna Chaney scored 11 for Chicago.

Sylvia Fowles, the second overall pick of this year's WNBA draft, returned to the Sky after missing 17 games with a sprained left knee. She came off the bench and finished with five rebounds and a block in 12 minutes.

Indiana (11-12) has lost six of its last seven road games. The lone victory away from home during that stretch was in the outdoor game at New York on Saturday.

Tammy Sutton-Brown had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Katie Douglas scored 14 and Allison Feaster added 11 for the Fever. Tamika Catchings had eight points, four steals and four assists in her second game back after sitting out a game with a bruised right Achilles' tendon.

Catchings found Sutton-Brown for a layup to cut the Sky's lead to 60-58 with 47.5 seconds remaining. But Melvin, Perkins and Dupree each had a pair of free throws in the final 35 seconds.

After Douglas opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer to draw the Fever within two, the Sky went on a 9-2 run to take a 59-50 lead with 4:20 remaining.

Dupree came out aggressively in the first quarter and scored 12 points as the Sky led 18-10. Chicago led 37-31 at halftime after closing the second quarter on a 10-4 run.
