Chicago 79, Atlanta 66 (F)

CHICAGO, July 13 (AP) -- Jia Perkins and Candice Dupree scored 18 points apiece to help the Chicago Sky snap a four-game losing streak with a 79-66 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday night.

Chasity Melvin added 10 points, Tye'sha Fluker had eight, and K.B. Sharp and Armintie Price seven each for the Sky (6-13). Dupree also had four steals for Chicago, which had lost nine of 11 coming in.

"It's been a long time since I've been able to smile,'' Sky coach Steven Key said. "We created better spacing tonight.''

Katie Feenstra had a season-high 21 points for Atlanta (2-19), which had won two of three after starting the season 0-17. Jennifer Lacy and Betty Lennox each scored 11 while Kristin Haynie added nine.

The Dream, who picked up the first win in franchise history against Chicago on July 5, started slow and never recovered. Atlanta missed 10 of its first 11 shots and was 3-for-20 in the first quarter as it trailed 21-6.

"We just were not making shots,'' Dream coach Marynell Meadors said. "We had open looks and we just did not knock them down. We kept missing, kept missing, kept missing and they kept scoring and kept pushing us down.''

Dupree scored 10 points and Perkins added nine in the period. The two also helped Chicago close the second quarter on a 13-2 run to extended its halftime lead to 44-17.

"We came out with a lot of energy tonight,'' Perkins said. "We made a run at the beginning and then just took it on from there. We were pretty excited about that and our defense was key for that run.''

The Sky's 6-0 run, capped by Price's free throw, gave them their biggest lead of the night, 56-26, with 4:16 left in the third. Chicago, which led 62-36 going into the fourth quarter, was outscored 30-17 in the final period.

Atlanta, which came into Sunday with the second worst shooting percentage in the league at 39.8 percent, shot 21-of-63 overall.
