SAN ANTONIO, July 1 (AP) -- Becky Hammon had 19 points, 10 in overtime, and Sophia Young added 27 to lead the San Antonio Silver Stars to a 79-72 overtime win over the Detroit Shock Tuesday night.

Ann Wauters also added 17 points with nine rebounds, in the second overtime game for the Silver Stars in a week. They lost to the Houston Comets 82-81 last Tuesday.

Down by two with 14.8 seconds in the fourth quarter, Wauters cut to the basket and hit a wide open layup to tie it 65-65.

Detroit had one last shot to win it in regulation, but Deanna Nolan's jumper with a second left bounced off the rim into Young's hands.

Then the Silver Stars took over. They fell behind early in overtime when Katie Smith hit a 3-pointer to open the period, but Hammon began driving to the basket and getting to the foul line.

The Silver Stars were 8-for-8 the line in the extra period, with Hammon hitting all six of her attempts.

Katie Smith led the Shock with 17 points, while Kara Braxton had 16, and Nolan and Plenette Pierson both had 11.
