After helping the San Antonio Silver Stars to another win over the Seattle Storm, Becky Hammon hopes an early season slump is behind her.

On Friday night, she'll try to help the Silver Stars (2-1) beat the Storm (3-1) for the seventh consecutive time when the teams conclude their home-and-home set at Seattle.

Hammon struggled in the first two games of the season, scoring 25 points on 6-of-27 shooting (22.2 percent). The 10-year veteran was fifth in the WNBA last season with a career-high 18.8 points per game along with a league-high 5.0 assists. She shot 44.5 percent from the floor and is a career 44.4 percent shooter.

Hammon's shooting touch was slightly better Saturday, when she went 6-of-15 from the floor and 4-for-10 from 3-point range for a season-high 20 points in an 87-72 win over Seattle. The point guard also recorded five assists in helping the Silver Stars halt the Storm's franchise-record three-game winning streak to start a season.

"I just needed to get my legs underneath me and get my timing back a little bit," Hammon said. "Happens when you're a shooter. You go into slumps. You just keep shooting and you shoot yourself out of it."

Hammon hasn't been in a slump in her last four games against the Storm, shooting 49.2 percent while averaging 20.8 points and 5.5 assists.

The Silver Stars hope that Hammon will continue her resurgence to give them a second scoring option to go with Sophia Young, who had 23 points Saturday and is averaging a team-high 23.3 through three games. The forward scored a career-high 16.8 points per game last year.

San Antonio hasn't lost to Seattle since an 87-57 defeat at KeyArena on June 23, 2006. That was also the last time the Silver Stars suffered a road loss to the Storm, as they won twice in Seattle in 2007.

"I just think at the moment they're very well connected," Storm center Lauren Jackson said. "They're good."

Jackson, the reigning WNBA MVP, had 14 points and seven rebounds Saturday. She leads Seattle with 18.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

The forward-center had 49 points and 20 rebounds in the two home losses to San Antonio last season.

Swin Cash will try to continue her strong play in the paint for the Storm after she recorded 15 points and five boards Saturday. The forward, second on the team with 16.0 points and 5.8 rebounds a game, was acquired from Detroit for the fourth overall selection in April's draft.
