Lynx Top Sky, Remain Unbeaten

CHICAGO, May 29 (AP) -- Seimone Augustus scored 19 points and tied a career high with nine rebounds to help the Minnesota Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 75-69 on Thursday night.

Anna DeForge and rookie Charde Houston added 15 points each for Minnesota (3-0), which is off to the best start in franchise history. Rookie Candice Wiggins added 11 points.

Sylvia Fowles had 16 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Chicago (1-2), which had won three straight against the Lynx. Candice Dupree added 12 points and Dominique Canty had eight points and six assists.

Nicky Anosike's jumper with 1:25 left gave the Lynx a two-point lead. Wiggins then picked up an offensive foul but made up for it with a 3-pointer to give Minnesota a 71-66 lead with 40.9 seconds remaining.

The Sky got within two after Fowles converted a three-point play with 32.2 left but Augustus and Houston each hit a pair of free throws in the final 21 seconds.

The Sky tied the game at 66 on Dupree's jumper with 1:42 remaining.

Houston scored six points during a 7-1 Minnesota run as the Lynx took a 66-60 lead with 3:24 left in the fourth.

The Lynx, which overcame a 12-point deficit in its overtime win in Houston on Tuesday, rallied once again. Down seven, Minnesota closed the third quarter with a 14-6 run to take a 55-54 lead.

Chicago took a 44-36 lead early in the third on consecutive layups from Fowles and Canty.

The Lynx took a 30-26 lead with 4:01 left in the second quarter on consecutive 3's from DeForge and Augustus, who combined for 19 points in the first half. Chicago closed the period on a 12-4 run to take a 38-34 at the break.
