MINNEAPOLIS, July, 8 2007 (AP) -- Tina Thompson scored 23 points to help Houston beat the Minnesota Lynx 79-67 on Sunday, giving the Comets their first road win of the season.

Thompson, who scored 20 or more the eighth time this season, also had eight rebounds as Houston improved to 5-13 with the win.

Seimone Augustus led the Lynx with 22 points, but Minnesota lost its fourth consecutive game, falling to 5-14.

Michelle Snow added 11 points for the Comets. Lynx guard Lindsey Harding, who had gone 0-for-7 from the field in Minnesota's 85-80 loss to Sacramento on Friday, bounced back with 16 points, but the Lynx lost their third consecutive home game.

Thompson had 17 points in the first half helping the Comets lead by as many as 16. Minnesota cut the advantage in half via a 10-2 run in the final three minutes before the half. The Lynx trailed by eight points early in the fourth quarter before a 6-0 run by the Comets boosted their lead to double-digits again.

The teams play again Thursday night in Houston.
