Fever Overwhelm Storm

INDIANAPOLIS, June 13 (AP)-- Tan White scored a season-high 23 points to lead the Indiana Fever to a 90-62 victory over the Seattle Storm on Wednesday night.

Tamika Catchings had 14 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. She became the 17th player in WNBA history to reach 3,000 career points when she made a 3-pointer with 3:48 left in the first quarter.

Tammy Sutton-Brown added 15 points, and nine rebounds and reserve Sheri Sam had 15 for Indiana (8-1), which won its fourth straight game and snapped Seattle's two-game winning streak.

Janell Burse led Seattle (4-4) with 18 points, and Lauren Jackson added 17.

Indiana shot 51.5 percent and outrebounded Seattle 41-24. The Fever have won their last three home games by a combined 72 points.

Seattle shot 39 percent and just 2-of-19 3-pointers.

Seattle made its first eight shots to take a 16-8 lead with 5:49 left in the first quarter. Seattle rookie Katie Gearlds, a Purdue graduate, hit a 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds left in the period to give the Storm a 26-21 lead. She finished with three points on 1-for-8 shooting.

Indiana started the second quarter on a 23-0 run while Seattle missed its first 10 shots of the period. Jackson finally scored with 2:28 left in the quarter, but the Fever led 50-30 at halftime. Indiana allowed four points in the second quarter, a team record.

Jackson made a free throw after a technical foul on Indiana coach Brian Winters to cut the Fever's lead to 56-41 in the third quarter, but Indiana responded with a 10-0 run to take a 66-41 lead.
