INDIANAPOLIS, August 5 (Ticker) -- All-Star Tamika Whitmore scored eight of her 26 points in the fourth quarter, when the Indiana Fever erased a double-digit deficit en route to a 76-70 victory over San Antonio Silver Stars.

All-Star Tamika Catchings collected 18 points, eight rebounds and seven steals and Tan White added 18 points and six rebounds for the Fever, who swept the season series from the Silver Stars for the second consecutive season.

Trailing by 16 points with 6:13 left in the third period, the Fever went on a 10-4 spurt to close the deficit to 59-49 heading into the final quarter.

Indiana used an 18-1 run capped by a three-point play by Catchings to take a 73-67 lead with 2:15 to play. Agnieszka Bibrzycka drained a 3-pointer to halve the deficit with 46 seconds left, but the Silver Stars did not score again, committing a pair of turnovers.

Bibrzycka, Shannon Johnson and LaToya Thomas scored 14 apiece for San Antonio (12-18), which lost its fourth straight game and fell to the brink of elimination from postseason contention. It is four games behind Seattle for the final playoff spot.
