UNCASVILLE, Conn., July 25 (Ticker) -- All-Star Katie Douglas scored nine of her 28 points in the third quarter as the Connecticut Sun won their fifth straight game, 86-73 over the Washington Mystics.

All-Star Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Connecticut, which improved to 10-2 at Mohegan Sun Arena this season.

With the Sun trailing, 44-39, with 8:36 to play in the third quarter, Douglas hit a pair of baskets during a 15-0 run.

McWilliams-Franklin, who picked up her ninth double-double, scored six consecutive points during the spurt, which put Connecticut ahead, 54-44, with 4:48 left.

The Sun opened a 78-63 bulge on a 3-pointer by Douglas with 3:53 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Rookie Erin Phillips scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed six boards for the Sun, who shot 49 percent (26-of-53) from the field and connected on 27-of-35 free throws.

Delisha Milton-Jones scored 17 points and collected seven rebounds and rookie Tamara James added a career-high 13 points for the Mystics, who shot just 37 percent (27-of-74).

Washington All-Star Alana Beard, who was held to one point in the final two quarters, finished with nine points on 4-of-14 shooting.
