INDIANAPOLIS, July 1 (Ticker) -- Katie Douglas helped the Connecticut Sun hand the Indiana Fever their first home loss of the season.

Douglas scored seven of her 22 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of demoralizing baskets, as the Sun rolled to a 76-66 victory over the Fever and moved into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 11 points for the Sun (12-5), who had five players in double figures and leapfrogged one-half game in front of the Fever, who had been 7-0 at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Connecticut took a 53-48 lead into the fourth quarter before Indiana closed to 55-53 on a jumper by Tan White with 7:24 to play. Asjha Jones answered with a basket and Douglas stole the ensuing inbounds pass and made a layup for a 59-53 advantage.

It was at least a two-possession game thereafter. Indiana got no closer than five points, and Douglas immediately responded with a 3-pointer for a 64-56 bulge.

Lindsay Whalen had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Jones and Margo Dydek also scored 10 points for the Sun, who shot 47 percent (25-of-53) from the field and held a 38-32 advantage on the glass.

Tamika Catchings scored 15 points, Anna DeForge added 13 and White 11 for the Fever, who shot just 35 percent (26-of-74).

Indiana had won five of its last six overall and was looking to send a message to Connecticut, which swept last year's conference finals.

Douglas scored 11 points in the first half as the Sun grabbed a 35-32 lead. They took the lead for good at 41-40 on a free throw by Dydek with 6:22 left in the third period.
