WASHINGTON, June 25 (Ticker) -- Chasity Melvin collected season highs of 25 points and 10 rebounds and Nikki Teasley added 16 points and five assists as the Washington Mystics posted an 87-80 triumph over the Connecticut Sun.

A eight-year veteran, Melvin made 11-of-17 shots. She also had five offensive rebounds, helping the Mystics to a 36-28 edge on the glass.

Coco Miller made two free throws with 7:52 remaining to give the Mystics a 72-61 lead. But the Sun stormed back with a 17-7 surge, pulling within 79-78 at the 1:54 mark.

Teasley converted a layup 15 seconds later to trigger a game-ending 8-2 run.

Alana Beard had 15 points and seven rebounds and Nakia Sanford contributed 10 and nine for the Mystics, who shot 53 percent (35-of-65) and scored 48 points in the paint.

Nykesha Sales, Taj McWilliams-Franklin and Asjha Jones scored 15 points apiece for Connecticut, which shot 46 percent (30-of-65) in having a three-game winning streak stopped.
