AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 16 (Ticker) -- Cheryl Ford had her way down low.

Ford had 15 points and 18 rebounds as the Detroit Shock posted a 71-63 victory over the Indiana Fever.

Katie Smith scored 13 points and Swin Cash added 12 for the Shock, who took control of the game in the third quarter en route to improving to 3-0 at home.

Sparked by Ford's physical presence down low, the Shock garnered a 44-27 rebounding advantage. Detroit had a 13-1 cushion on the boards in the decisive third quarter.

Holding a 46-44 lead, the Shock used a 9-0 surge to take control. Smith capped the burst with a 3-pointer with 1:50 remaining in the third.

Named to WNBA's All-Decade Team earlier this week, Tamika Catchings struggled the entire night for Indiana. The forward scored just three points on 1-of-10 shooting.

Tamika Whitmore scored 19 points and Anna DeForge 15 for Indiana, which was denied its second three-game winning streak of the season. The Fever shot just 34 percent (21-of-62).
