Snow, Comets Cruise Past Lynx; Swoopes Injured
HOUSTON, June 4 (Ticker) -- Michelle Snow and the Houston Comets put the restraints on the Minnesota Lynx's offense.
Snow scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Comets extended their winning streak to five games with an 85-62 victory over the Lynx.
The Comets held their fifth consecutive opponent under 40 percent shooting. Minnesota shot 38 percent (24-of-64).
The Lynx entered the matchup shooting better than 50 percent in their previous two games, but were limited from the start as they tallied only 13 points - their lowest total of the season - in the first quarter.
Houston owned a double-digit lead throughout majority of the contest and virtually sealed the outcome with a 15-5 run to begin the final period. Swoopes scored six points during the burst, but left later in the period for the second straight game with a back injury.
Rookie Seimone Augustus netted 20 points for Minnesota, which was seeking its first three-game winning streak of the season.
