WASHINGTON, May 27 (Ticker) -- Alana Beard provided the touch from outside and Latasha Byears handled business in the paint for the Washington Mystics.

Beard scored 25 points and Byears registered career highs with 20 and 14 rebounds as the Mystics cruised to a 90-75 victory over the Minnesota Lynx, who remain winless at 0-3.

The duo of Beard and Byears combined to make 18-of-32 shots from the field for the Mystics, who scored 26 of their 46 points in the paint before halftime.

Washington trailed, 26-21, at the start of the second quarter before taking control for good as it outscored Minnesota by 14 points to build a 49-40 advantage at intermission.

Beard hit a 3-pointer and then scored on a layup as the Mystics extended their edge to 76-60 with just under seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

DeLisha Milton-Jones had 12 points and five steals for Washington, which shot 46 percent (35-of-75) from the field and forced 23 turnovers.

Top overall draft pick Seimone Augustus led Minnesota in scoring for the third straight game, finishing with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting.

Amber Jacobs added 13 points and five assists for the Lynx, who were outrebounded by a 15-9 margin on the offensive boards.
