SEATTLE, June 15 (Ticker) -- Katie Smith scored seven of her 21 points in overtime to lift the Minnesota Lynx to an 86-81 win over the Seattle Storm.

The win was the fifth straight for the Lynx and avenged a first-round sweep to the Storm in the 2004 playoffs.

Smith was coming off a season-high 27-point performance in a win over Washington on Saturday but struggled a bit in this one, shooting 5-of-18. She did plenty of damage from the line, however, making 9-of-10 free throws.

A six-year veteran, Smith hit an eight-footer to give Minnesota an 81-79 lead midway through the extra session. After Betty Lennox answered for Seattle to tie it, Smith's jumper with 70 seconds left put the Lynx ahead to stay.

Nicole Ohlde and Svetlana Abrosimova combined for 29 points for Minnesota, which held a late lead in regulation before Lennox hit a short jumper with 23 seconds to go to force overtime.

Lauren Jackson scored 26 points and Iziane Castro Marques added 19 for the Storm, who fell to 2-2 without star guard Sue Bird. Bird missed her fourth straight game while recovering from a broken nose.
