SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 19 (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Monarchs are heading into the postseason on a hot streak.

Yolanda Griffith scored 18 points as the Monarchs won their third straight game, a 72-63 victory over the Minnesota Lynx.

After Tamika Williams' layup gave Minnesota a 45-40 lead with 14:10 remaining, the Monarchs outscored the Lynx 20-7 over the next nine minutes to take the lead for good.

Minnesota cut the lead to five with a minute left, but Kara Lawson hit eight free throws to clinch the victory.

Lawson finished with 17 points, and Tangela Smith and DeMya Walker scored 10 apiece for the Monarchs.

Sacramento guard Ticha Penicheiro did not play after injuring her left foot Saturday, but she is expected to be ready for Friday's postseason opener against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Svetlana Abrosimova scored a season-high 21 points for the Lynx, who enter the postseason having lost three of four and will face the Seattle Storm.
