HOUSTON, Sept. 1 (Ticker) -- Paced by five double-digit scorers, the Minnesota Lynx posted a 72-64 victory over the Comets and recorded their first win ever in Houston.

Nicole Ohlde scored 16 points and Helen Darling chipped in with 14, including 10 in the second half, to lead the Lynx. Svetlana Abrosimova and Tamika Williams added 12 points apiece and Amanda Lassiter scored 11 off the bench.

With Houston leading, 57-56, Lassiter hit a 3-pointer with just under five minutes left to play to give the Lynx the lead for good.

The Comets were led by Sheryl Swoopes with 22 points and Tina Thompson with 19. The rest of the Comets combined to shoot just 6-of-19 from the floor.

The game would not have been as close if not for Houston's advantage at the free-throw line. The Comets shot 83.9 percent (26-for-31) from the stripe while the Lynx converted 13 of just 17 opportunities.

Minnesota is now 1-9 all-time in Houston.
