INDIANAPOLIS, July 8 (Ticker) -- Stephanie White hit a pair of free throws with one second remaining to give the Indiana Fever a 58-56 victory over the Minnesota Lynx.

After White's free throw with 28 seconds remaining gave Indiana a 56-53 edge, Katie Smith answered with a 3-pointer from the top of the key 14 seconds later to tie it.

Tamika Catchings missed a runner in the lane with two seconds left, and White was fouled by Teresa Edwards during the ensuing scramble. Her free throws gave the Fever their third win in their last five games by a combined four points.

Catchings, who hit a go-ahead jumper with 1:13 left, scored 17 points, including 11-for-11 from the line. Deanna Jackson chipped in 15 points, including eight in an 11-2 run that opened the second half and gave Indiana a 34-31 lead.

Smith made three 3-pointers and scored 18 points for the Lynx, who lost their fifth consecutive road game.

Trailing 48-45, Minnesota got back-to-back jumpers from Stacey Lovelace-Tolbert with just over six minutes remaining. Svetlana Abrosimova buried a 3-pointer just over a minute later to cap an 8-0 run, but Minnesota managed just one basket over the final 5:13.
