HOUSTON, July 29 (Ticker) -- Janeth Arcain fueled an early burst and scored a season-high 20 points as the Houston Comets remained unbeaten at home against the Minnesota Lynx by breezing to a 73-58 victory.

Tina Thompson scored 16 points and Ukari Figgs added a season-high 13 for the Comets, who are 9-0 all-time vs. the Lynx at the Compaq Centre.

Arcain, Thompson and Figgs picked up the slack for All-Star Sheryl Swoopes, who had a rare poor game with eight points on 4-of-13 shooting. Houston has won four in a row and eight of its last nine games.

Minnesota suffered a tough 71-69 loss in its last visit here July 1 but never was in this one. Houston never trailed and led by as many as 23 points.

Arcain scored six points in a 21-5 surge that turned a one-point game into a 27-10 lead. Kelley Gibson capped the surge with a 3-pointer at the 7:48 mark.

The Comets held a 39-21 halftime lead, shooting 49 percent (17-of-35) from the field while holding the Lynx under 30 percent (8-of-27). Minnesota got no closer than 10 points in the second half.

Sheri Sam scored 16 points and Janell Burse added 13 for the Lynx, who had won seven of their last nine games. High-scoring Katie Smith was held to seven points on 3-of-13 shooting.
