AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 22 (Ticker) -- Swin Cash scored five of her 14 points in the final 75 seconds as the Detroit Shock extended their winning streak to four games with a 74-71 victory over the Cleveland Rockers on Tuesday.

Cheryl Ford, who also scored 14 points, sank a 16-footer to put the Shock ahead for good with 2:05 remaining. Cash, who was just 1-of-8 from the floor before hitting a pair of layups in the final minute, made 1-of-2 free throws to give Detroit a three-point lead with 1:15 left.

Chasity Melvin, who scored 15 points, made 1-of-2 from the line to pull Cleveland within two with 58 seconds left. But Cash answered with a layup 13 seconds later to make it 72-68. Elaine Powell came up with a key rebound after a missed jumper by Merlakia Jones and Cash converted a pass from Deanna Nolan to push Detroit's lead to six with 27 seconds to go.

Melvin made a 3-pointer to trim the lead to 74-71 with 15 seconds remaining and Cleveland had a chance to go ahead after Powell missed a pair from the line. But Betty Lennox missed a 3-pointer with seven seconds left. The Rockers regained possession after a jump ball, but were unable to get another shot as Nolan came up with a steal.

Ford pulled down 14 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season and handed out a career-high five assists. Ruth Riley also scored 14 points for Detroit, which defeated Cleveland for the second time in four days.

LaToya Thomas scored 17 points off the bench to lead Cleveland, which has alternated wins and losses in its last 10 games.
