Augustus's heroics were necessary because Angel McCoughtry (No. 35) continued her torrid WNBA Finals scoring binge for the Dream on Wednesday night at the Target Center.
McCoughtry followed up her WNBA record-setting Game 1 performance (where she scored 19 points in the third quarter on Sunday) by setting another record in Game 2, pouring in 38 points, from several different angles and often draped with defenders like Augustus (left) and Candice Wiggins (right).
Down, but not out, McCoughtry vowed to keep fighting. "Let us battle out. Let us scratch and claw to the end. It's entertainment. That's what people want to see," said the Dream gunner after the loss.
