FEVER ADDS SHANNON BOBBITT TO TRAINING CAMP ROSTER
The Indiana Fever has announced the signing of point guard Shannon Bobbitt to a training contract for 2011.
Bobbitt, who played two seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks after a college career at the University of Tennessee, did not play in the WNBA in 2010. She appeared in 59 games with 20 starts during the 2008 and 2009 seasons in L.A. After averaging 3.0 points and 2.3 assists per game in those seasons and helping the Sparks to the 2008 Western Conference Finals, she was waived during training camp last summer.
The 5-2 native of Bronx, N.Y., Bobbitt enters Fever training camp as the third former member of the UT Lady Vols, joining perennial All-Star Tamika Catchings and college teammate Shyra Ely. Ely signed with Indiana on February 4.
