The Michigan State women's basketball team honored former Spartan and current Indiana Fever center Kristen Rasmussen at halftime of its game against Indiana University on Friday, Jan. 2.

Rasmussen is a three-time All-Big Ten selection who ranks first in Michigan State history in career rebounds (964) and blocked shots (194) and fourth in scoring (1,493). The Spartans posted a 69-50 record during her four-year career (1996-2000), including their lone Big Ten title in 1996-97.

Since leaving Michigan State, Rasmussen has enjoyed a four-year career in the WNBA, including stints with the Utah Starzz, Miami Sol and Indiana Fever. During the 2003 season, she started 25 games for Indiana, averaging a career-high 6.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

A reception for family and friends was held Friday after the game.
