Phillips and Wisla Sweep Polish Finals as Fever Stars Return

Three Fever players are making their way home this week after wrapping up winter leagues overseas. Jessica Davenport, Katie Douglas and Erin Philips are the last three Fever players to return to Indianapolis after three successful overseas seasons. The latter, Phillips, helped her Wisla Can-Pack team to a Polish League championship this week with a 4-0 series sweep in the Polish Finals.
Davenport and Chevakata finished fifth in the Russian League with a record of 10-8 on the season and making it to the quarterfinals of Russian League playoffs. Davenport was tenth in the league with an average of 13.8 points per game.
Douglas had a great season, averaging 15.2 points per game and ranking fifth in the league with 2.1 steals per game. Nadehzda Orenburg finished 4th in the Russian League after advancing to the semifinals and falling to UMMC, who went on to win the title.
Wisla Can-Pack swept the Polish finals series against CCC Polkowice, winning the Polish League playoff title. In the final game of the series, Phillips scored a team-high 15 points. Philips also was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2011-2012 All-Polish PLKK Awards. She finished with a 13.2-point scoring average and was 10th in the league in with 3.2 assists per game.
The three players are expected to return to Indianapolis this weekend, prior to next week’s preseason home game against San Antonio.
