Fever's Lynn Miller Candidate for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the YearTweet
Official Release | March 12, 2014
The Indiana Chapter of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launched its 2014 Indianapolis Man & Woman of the Year competition on February 27, 2014, to raise money for cancer research and patient services.
Community leaders compete for the national title of Man & Woman of the Year, an honor surrounded with a great deal of fanfare, community support and local and national recognition. However, the most important reason candidates participate is for families like this year’s Boy & Girl of the Year, Zaki Siddiqui and Maeve Bigelow. Zaki and Maeve are childhood blood cancer survivors and are sources of inspiration for the candidates.
Lynn Miller, Senior Sales and Service Consultant for the Indiana Fever and Pacers Sports & Entertainment, is participating as a 2014 candidate.
The money raised by candidates over the ten-week period is used by LLS to fund research seeking cures and better therapies, and to provide information and support so that patients have the best possible outcomes throughout their cancer experience.
Every dollar raised counts as one “vote.” The male and female candidates with the most “votes” will be awarded the titles of 2014 Man & Woman of the Year at a Grand Finale Gala on May 10, 2014, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, and then are entered into the competition for National Man & Woman of the Year.
