Fever Surprise Guests on McAfee Show
September 25, 2013
The Indiana Fever made a memorable surprise appearance on IndyStar.com's Pat McAfee Show at Kilroy's in Broad Ripple on Monday night.
McAfee, the star of the show and punter for the Indianapolis Colts, started his weekly show with his normal entrance and monologue, but quickly began to show signs that he wasn't feeling well. He complained of being too hot and took off his jacket, then a short while later he doubled over and excused himself from the room. As the confused audience wondered aloud what was happening, the song "Fever" came blaring through the restaurant, and McAfee reappeared wearing a custom Fever jersey, followed closely by Fever players Briann January, Jeanette Pohlen, and Erin Phillips.
The Fever trio made their way with McAfee to the front of the stage and talked with the Colts punter and the audience about their run in the WNBA Playoffs so far. They presented McAfee (wearing a Fever jersey with No. 1 and "Boomstick" on the back) with a WNBA basketball, replica championship ring, and four courtside seats to give away to Sunday's Eastern Conference Finals showdown with the Atlanta Dream at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
