Indiana Fever stars Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas each lead their respective positions in nationwide voting for the 2009 Eastern Conference All-Star Team. Catchings leads all Eastern Conference vote-getters and is second in overall voting throughout the WNBA, trailing Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury. Douglas is third overall in the East.

Catchings has received more votes (32,266) than any forward in the East, with Douglas (22,407) pacing the votes for all East guards. Among Eastern Conference leaders, Fever center Tammy Sutton-Brown (15,132) is second in balloting at center, with Tully Bevilaqua (16,735) fourth among guards and Ebony Hoffman (14,608) fifth among forwards.

Balloting continues through July 7 in WNBA arenas, on and all team websites. The 2009 WNBA All-Star Game will be nationally televised on ABC on Saturday, July 25 (3:30 p.m. ET), from Connecticutís Mohegan Sun Arena.

Catchings, a five-time All-Star, finished balloting as the Eastís leading vote-getter in 2005 and 2006. She is currently averaging 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.1 steals per game. Douglas, a two-time All-Star who was voted the All-Star Game MVP in 2006, currently leads the Fever with 18.1 points per game, while averaging 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals. The Fever sits atop the Eastern Conference with a 6-2 record while matching a franchise mark with six straight wins.
