Fever Announces 2005 TV Schedule

News Release | May 9, 2005
The Indiana Fever begins its sixth year in the Women’s National Basketball Association, and for the sixth consecutive season, the Fever has completed its local television package with market affiliates FSN Midwest and WB4. For the fourth straight year, the broadcast tandem of Chris Denari and Debbie Antonelli will call the action on Indiana’s local telecasts.

Indiana, which opens its regular season on Sunday, May 22 (6:00 p.m.), against the Charlotte Sting, begins its eight-game local TV package two nights later while hosting the WNBA’s 2004 Rookie of the Year Diana Tarausi and the Phoenix Mercury (7:00 p.m.) on Tuesday, May 24. The game will be televised on FSN Midwest as the first of four games on the regional sports network.

The first WB4 telecast is Wednesday, June 1 (7:00 p.m.), against the Sacramento Monarchs. WB4 will carry two games in June and two during August.

In all, nine Fever games will be televised – including a national telecast on ESPN2 when the Fever travels to face the Washington Mystics on Sunday, August 7 (6:30 p.m.).

“We’re happy to have WB4 and FSN Midwest as our television partners for a sixth straight year,” said the Fever’s Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Kelly Krauskopf. “Our local TV package is vital to our growth as a franchise, and the continued growth of the WNBA.”

Other FSN Midwest games include a pair of bouts against Eastern Conference rival Detroit – Wednesday, June 15, and Friday, July 15. The FSN Midwest schedule concludes on Friday, July 29, against the Washington Mystics.

"FSN Midwest is excited to once again be a part of Indiana Fever basketball," said FSN Midwest Vice President and General Manager Jack Donovan. "It's part of our continuing effort to bring regional programming to basketball fans in Indiana."

Other WB4 games include a Tuesday, June 28, encounter with the Los Angeles Sparks, featuring Lisa Leslie and Chamique Holdsclaw; Thursday, August 4, against defending WNBA champion Seattle Storm; and Saturday, August 20, vs. Charlotte.

Said FOX59/WB4 Vice President and General Manager Jerry Martin, “Indiana's WB4 is once again pleased to be the broadcast home for the Indiana Fever. WB4 has a long history of providing Indiana with coverage of all the local sports teams, and the partnership with the Indiana Fever allows fans the opportunity to see another great local professional team."

All Fever regular season games are also broadcast live on WIBC AM-1070, as Denari, sports director at FOX59, teams with former Purdue star Jane Schott in calling the action. Veteran broadcaster Kevin Lee makes the call with Schott when Denari handles local TV duties.

Individual tickets for all Fever home games can be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Internet (www.Ticketmaster.com or www.ConsecoFieldhouse.com) or by phone at 1-877-WNBA-TIXX. For season or group ticket information, call (317) 917-2500.
