Lin Dunn
In general:
“We’re thrilled to bits to get out of here with a victory, especially on a back-to-back. We had some turnovers, I thought that hurt us, but that was their defensive pressure. [The Mystics] are just that good. I know they’re heart-broken, as they should be. Tonight, we made the bucket when we needed it.”

A key to the win:
“The very first thing is our bench. I think we get great help from the bench. I feel like we’re getting quality help from our bench and I think that’s been a real factor for us all along. I thought we did a pretty good job getting nine people with double-figure minutes.”

WASHINGTON -- Shannon Bobbitt made a floating layup at the buzzer to give the Indiana Fever a 61-59 victory over the Washington Mystics on Friday night.

Tamika Catchings led Indiana (13-6) with 16 points, as the Fever won their third straight and swept a two-game, two-day road trip.

Matee Ajavon led Washington (3-14) with 19 points, but missed a 17-foot fadeaway jumper with 18 seconds left that would've given the Mystics the lead.

Katie Douglas won an ensuing jump ball after a tie-up, and then after a timeout, Bobbitt took the inbounds pass, faked a pass as she drove the lane and hit a relatively uncontested shot as time expired.

Crystal Langhorne added 17 points for the Mystics, who lost their fourth straight and ninth in 10 games.

Postgame Notes:

  • One night after registering a career-high with 13 points and becoming the 11th Fever player this season to score in double figures, Bobbitt put up just one shot and finished with just two points.
