INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever opened its 2007 training camp Sunday morning, with an administrative team meeting followed by its first official practice at 11:00 a.m. The club also announced the addition of Jennifer Humphrey and Erin Lawless to its training camp roster.

Humphrey is a 6-3 forward-center from the University of Kentucky, whose 10.3 rebounds per game were second in the Southeastern Conference. She averaged 8.6 points as a senior. Lawless, a 6-2 forward, was a three-year starter at nearby Purdue, and one of the Boilermakers’ top contributors during a 2006-07 season that fell one game shy of the Final Four. Lawless averaged 10.1 points and a career-best 5.7 rebounds as a senior.

The Fever opened its camp with eight active players – six rookies plus veterans Tully Bevilaqua and Kasha Terry. Nine additional veterans will report after their overseas playing commitments conclude within the next two weeks.

For the first time in its history, Indiana opens training camp with its entire starting lineup intact from its previous season. Last summer, the Fever’s 21-13 won-loss mark matched the franchise record it established in 2005. Under fourth-year head coach Brian Winters, and with Bevilaqua as its point guard, Indiana has reached the WNBA Playoffs in each of those two seasons.

Training camp continues with practices through May 18. The Fever will participate in three preseason games before opening the regular season against the Minnesota Lynx, May 19 (7:00 p.m.) at Conseco Fieldhouse. Preseason home games are May 5 against the Seattle Storm (6:00 p.m.), and May 10 against the Los Angeles Sparks (7:00 p.m.). The Fever concludes its preseason schedule at Chicago on May 15.

The May 5 game is tabbed as Heart Healthy Night – a special evening with general admission seating and ticket proceeds to benefit the battle against heart disease. All tickets for that event are $10. It also will mark the professional debut for former Purdue teammates – Lawless and Indianapolis native Katie Gearlds.

Single-game tickets for all Fever home games may be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations or FeverBasketball.com. For season ticket information, call (317) 917-2500.
