Spring Fever Visits Conner Prairie and Indianapolis Zoo

April 8, 2005
The Indiana Fever concluded its Spring Fever campaign with a pair of events at Conner Prairie and the Indianapolis Zoo.

On Wednesday, April 6, Coretta Brown made a visit to Conner Prairie where visiting kids and families were invited to a Reading TimeOut. Coretta read to those in attendance and also answered questions. During the readings, Coretta had one of the young guests assist her by holding the book and when she finished reading, she autographed photos to all her fans. Later, Coretta joined the children in a craft session led by staff from Conner Prairie. The group made little birds made out of puffs of cotton and other materials.

The second Spring Fever appearance of the week took place on Friday, April 8 at the Indianapolis Zoo. Ebony Hoffman stopped by to tour the zoo and read to some of the visiting children. Ebony read a pair of books about animals before answering questions and signing autographs. Later, staff members from the zoo took Ebony through the water exhibits with other children. The group toured the Water House, learning more about the underwater world and its many sea creatures. Some of the animals seen on the tour were seals, a variety of fish, seahorses, penguins and polar bears.
