Natalia Vodopyanova was a member of the bronze medal Russian National Team in the 2004 Olympic Games where she averaged 5.9 points and 3.9 rebounds. The 6-3 forward also averaged 5.5 points per game in 2001 European Championship and played on the Junior National Team through 2000.

Vodopyanova was signed by the Seattle Storm as a free agent on 5/6/05. She averaged 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds for the Storm in 2005 and sat out the 2006 season. On July 16, 2005, Vodopyanova scored a career-high seven points versus the Los Angeles Sparks.
