On the Road With...
Sun guard Lindsay Whalen

WNBA players spend a lot of time on the road. In what is still a young basketball career, Connecticut Sun guard Lindsay Whalen has gotten to travel all over the place for basketball. Whether playing in college, for USA Basketball or now in the WNBA, Whalen has gotten to see and experience a great a deal as she gets accustomed to living out of suitcases.

Q. What are some countries you've gotten to travel to for basketball?
"I've been to a lot of cool places. Croatia, Brazil, France, Switzerland and Germany and Mexico. Croatia was awesome. It was really very beautiful. We were overlooking the sea and got to go out on boats."

Q. If you could only choose one... on a beach, hiking and camping out, or visiting a museum?
"I'm want to do something outside, either a beach or hiking and camping. I enjoy nice scenery."

Q. What are your favorite WNBA cities to visit?
"New York, Washington, Seattle and Phoenix."

Q. What is the best WNBA city to go out shopping? Do you have any favorite stores?
"I shop a little bit but it's nothing crazy. I won't go out of my way to find certain stores."

Q. What is the best WNBA city for dining out? What are your favorite restaurants?
I love going out to eat. P.F. Chang's, St. Elmo's in Indiana, everywhere in New York. I love the delis there.

Q. What are the best places to shop and dine out in in the Connecticut area?
"There really aren't many great places to shop in the Connecticut area. You have to either go to the outlet stores in New York and Connecticut or head down to New York City. When going out to eat, there is a great oyster bar in Mystic, which is right on the water. Mystic is a great tourist area. Of course, there are some great restaurants in the hotel and casino where we play as well. I particularly like Michael Jordan's and the Longhouse for steak."
