Dream to Hold "Dribble to Stop Diabetes" WNBA FIT Clinic Friday

ATLANTA, Oct. 9, 2013 – The Atlanta Dream and the WNBA, in partnership with Sanofi US and the American Diabetes Association, will host a Dribble to Stop Diabetes WNBA FIT Clinic on Friday, Oct. 11, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the A. Worley Brown Boys & Girls Club in Norcross, Ga.

Dream players at the clinic will work with the youth on basketball fundamentals while emphasizing the importance of staying active and living a healthy lifestyle. The clinic will immediately follow a press event that includes WNBA legend Teresa Edwards, Dream CEO Ashley Preisinger and Dream players addressing the audience.

The NBA/WNBA FIT platform is the league’s comprehensive health and wellness program that encourages physical activity and healthy living for children and families. Through programs such as Dribble to Stop Diabetes, Jamba Juice FIT Clinics and Coke Live Positively, the NBA/WNBA informs, engages and educates its fans in healthy living practices.

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its sixth season as part of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Dream, in the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season including conference titles in 2010, 2011 and 2013, hosts Minnesota in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
